Britney Spears & Jason Trawick's Mexican Getaway

Escaping the tabloid drama claiming alleged abuse, Britney Spears headed out with boyfriend Jason Trawick for a romantic weekend getaway to Mexico.

The couple took a private jet south of the border while accompanied by a slew of staffers as Miss Spears and her man celebrated her 29th birthday - which was on Thursday, December 2nd.

Tweeting about the planned excursion, Britney previously wrote, "Ok, off on a romantic weekend with Jason for my birthday. xoxo Brit"

The trip comes after Star magazine and Radar Online released audio claiming to be Spears talking to ex beau Jason Alexander about Trawick having hit her - while the two tabloid news sources later came out with a folowup story inferring drug use by the pop star.

Fed up with the lies, Brit's manager posted a Twitter comment telling: "These guys just don't know when to quit! #BoycottRadarOnlineAndStarMagazine -Adam Leber, Manager"

Ready for a relaxing holiday, Britney Spears enjoyed the summery weather in Westwood, California on Friday afternoon (May 28).

The 28-year-old singer shopped in a white summer dress, fedora and her usual slipping bra straps as she eased into the Memorial Day weekend.

Meanwhile, Brit Brit continues to push forth with her dominant run in accumulating Twitter followers.

After passing Ashton Kutcher for the top spot earlier in the week, the "Gimme More" singer has since been said to have become the first person to top the five million followers mark.
